Sisters

Sitting happily eating a snack.
Walk out of the room and somehow two sisters can become moral enemies the second you step out of the room tears screams....
How?

Mother's Day.

Ok so a happy mothers day...?
Ok so C worked last night, upon arriving home she was greeted by screaming kids fighting over who gives what first, yes punches were thrown but Gr won she may be 3 but she sure can scream (my theory is that she will be patient 0 in the zombie apocalypse.) so Mummy had her gifts and was very happy then she grabbed her laptop and with her noise canceling headphones sat in bed reading the news, ebay and whatever makes her happy and wind down.
Then it started....
Gastro always sounded so paese to me, in fact I had never had it until my 40's and then Oh My God what's happening to me?
Well one of her patients on Friday had an "explosive" case of  Gastro and the aerosol effect means that droplets hang in the air (yes we had that conversation!) so today was a bit of a downer for her and trying to cheer her up by saying "Well you can at least spend time at home for the next few nights" did not work!!
Other News?
T has had his state enforced iPad confiscated.
The School said it was needed for "The learnings" (something yet to be evidenced) but as he was one of the last in his class to get one, we got him one. But there were conditions

  • Make sure it's charged
  • Poo patrol (for K)
  • Chores to be done without asking
Etc etc, well he lost it for not doing any of his chores for two weeks now (yes I let it go to see if he would work it out) well he'll get it back tomorrow but my point is that he had to post his homework on Evernote and his Teacher said that it wasn't there. But did he ask? No. He has Evernote on his PC but, (and it could be my fault) he didn't realize that he could do it from his PC and he could not grasp the "Cloud"concept I think I got there using post it notes and cushions.
I wish the School in it's race to be cutting edge would teach some basic computing concepts and teach them to type.
I'll tell him tomorrow he gets his iPad back but for now back to the trenches and make sure that C is Ok.

Me

I guess I should point out here a little about myself,
I am a hairdresser who had a rather major hip replacement late last year, still getting better (I was stuck in a wheelchair for two months (great lesson there, people can be ignorant unthinking pigs) but I was lucky I was only in one for a short time.
Now as I recover our house has evolved and I now take care of the kids and C works and keeps the house afloat.
I do the odd bit of contract work when it fits in around the house to keep what little sanity I have left and to give me pocket money for my other great love "TECH".
Not a big fan of the Apple thing, love mt PC (Three screens, try that on a Mac) and Android mobile.
My son T has had to get an iPad for school, to provide a "media rich" environment, when I asked what that was they weren't sure but they told me the benefits of the i store I did ask if they were sponsored by Apple but they said no, so I asked if we could use an Android tablet but their server wouldn't do it (rubbish).
Ok if you want to invest in the Apple way thats fine but I do think that signing them up at 10 into an ecosystem that by the time they are old enough to make an informed decision for themselves they will have a massive investment in their i account and the cost of moving will be too great.
So we waited it out and he was one of the last to get an iPad, he is now happy, BUT after six weeks with an ipad I can honestly say that he has not received any benefit from having one for school.
and as I use a Samsung Note 10.1 I am not seeing the intuitive nature of the i interface i spend most of my time helping him by asking how to go back etc yes I know it's what you get used to, but still ARRGH!
Oh and got as S4 a week and a half ago wow...no really wow!
more on that later :)

Day one

Ok so I have threatened to do this for a while, and as I seem to be turning into "Victor Meldrew" living with the cast of "Outnumbered"(I swear they got all their Ideas from my life).

I will call my kids
T who is 10 1/2
G who is almost 6
L who is almost 5
and
Gr who is 3
we also have a Ridgeback  - Staffie cross called K.
Oh and wife C if you're reading this my dear wife, I have listed every one in reverse order (I think she'll buy that).
Today's dilemma was that G was given $1 by her friend "to look after" and in true "bestie" fashion as it was a warm day she bought herself a ice cream cup with the Dollar she was looking after.
She knew she had done the wrong thing and I am sure it won't happen again (G howled when we got home saying how sorry she was) but the Mum of her friend was standing there arms crossed tapping her foot, (I kept looking for the Spanish inquisition) (Nobody expects the Spanish inquisition!)
The Teacher handled it really well and I gave G $1 and she gave it to her friend so all fixed. I hope.
